Americans with Disabilities Act: The goal of this seminar is to provide participants with a basic understanding of the “Americans with Disabilities Act” and its impact upon child care providers. We will provide an explanation of each of the Titles of the Act (Employment, Public Services, Public Accommodations and Services Operated by Private Entities, Telecommunications and Miscellaneous Provisions) and the action needed to be taken to assure compliance with the Act. Discussion will include the restrictions for employee interviews, reasonable accommodations and the need for personnel policies and job descriptions to reflect the changes in the law. We will also address state regulations which directly conflict this Federal Law. |
