SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN IN THE CHILD CARE SETTING This workshop will focus on the supervision of children in the early childhood setting with particular emphasis on licensing regulations and expectations. Discussion will include: defining supervision, staff to child ratios, staff assignments to specific children, staff communication as it pertains to the transfer of children from on staff member to another, sign-in and sign-out procedures and classroom management issues related to maintaining effective supervision of all children. Additional discussions will include the staff’s legal responsibilities and liability surrounding this issue. |
